What We Can Offer

While every day out will be tailored to the individual and their goals, listed below are some examples of days and courses we can run. We usually guide or instruct a maximum of 2 clients at once.

Intro to Trad Climbing

For those who are new to climbing and want to give it a try. We will find a crag to make the most of the weather and get you out on some rock. We will cover what 'Trad Climbing' is and experience why it's so popular. We will learn to use all the equipment we use as Trad climbers like cams and nuts. We'll also cover things like how to tie in and use the rope safely to protect us as we move up the rock.

Indoor to Outdoor

If you're an indoor climber who wants to get outside on real rock for the first time then we will tailor a session for you that does just that, but also builds on the skills you already have as an indoor climber. You'll get your hands on some trad gear and learn to place it and build belays. Climbing rock can feel a lot harder and more intimidating than climbing at the wall and we'll look at how to use our bodies to move up the rock efficiently and build confidence.

Trad Climbing Skills Development

If you're already climbing outdoors and want to learn new skills, build on your current skills, or it's been a while and want a refresher then we can have a chat about your current level and your goals then put together a day specific to your needs. Examples of areas we can help you develop would be but are not limited to:

  • Learn to lead

  • Movement skills and tactics

  • Abseiling

  • Belay Building and anchor selection

  • Placement of trad gear

  • Multipitch skills

  • Tidal sea cliffs

  • Mountain trad

  • Escaping the system

Intro to Multipitch

Having the skills to both climb and escape in a multipitch environment can give you the confidence to go out and tackle some of the best climbing in Scotland. By its very nature multipitch climbing is both more committing and more daunting. However with confidence in your skills you can get out onto mountain cliffs, sea cliffs and even sea stacks to have a real adventure.
